Merry Christmas 2022 - Traditions

My daughter purchased her home in 2019 - since then we celebrate Christmas in her home. I gather everything up and head to her house on Christmas Eve, spending the night and enjoying Christmas morning with her. I love it!

Merry Christmas 2022 - Fur Babies

This year, the fur babies got new cat beds ...

We've had a real cold snap here in Tennessee (as well as most of the country), getting the beds was a good choice. Warm snuggly beds for my babies.

Booker took to his bed immediately!

It took Jezebel a while to get into her bed ... she's funny like that!

She watched Booker in his bed and then laid on my head on the back of the couch.

The Birthday Celebrations Continue

Gifts from my sister.

These bowls and plates go so well with my kitchen theme.

My sister is so good and finding things that really make a room or outfit or event come together. There is also the sister's birthday book.

These bowls and plates are from the Panama Jack Home Collection.

I love them, they are plastic but look ceramic. I will be using these dishes daily.

My violet bloomed on my actual birthday.

What a blessing, a gift from God.

Sewing Room

I haven't been in my sewing room in AGES!!!

I've think I have lost my mojo!!!

I've been so busy with the holidays, Thanksgiving and now all of the Christmas activities, that I haven't made a lot of time for sewing. I've been knitting a bit but no sewing.

I won't lie! I miss it!

I have a few vacation days coming up and I plan to spend some time in my sewing room then. All things ebb and flow, I will be back to my sewing room soon.

Home and Hearth

Getting ready for spring!

Spring?

I've lived in my home for 4 years now and I've been making a list of things that I want to get done. My Honey Do List, if you will. This year I had some landscaping done.

I had the monkey grass and landscaping beams removed from the flower bed in front of the house and from around the tree in front of the house.

I'm not a fan of monkey grass and I really dislike landscaping beams.

I love a soft scape when it comes to landscaping.

It is my hope that I will be able to softly expand the flower beds in the front of my home.

I had heavy mulch laid down and the bed shaped.

I've decide on hydrangea and lavender for this end of the front bed as it gets a lot of direct sunlight.

I'm still not sure what to plant in front of the porch. It gets a lot of water from the driveway drainage and it is total shade. I would love irises but not sure if the bulbs would survive.

Anyway, the beds are ready for spring planting ... so I have a bit more time to decide on what to plant.

Blooms

BLOOMS

I have a beautiful outside facing kitchen window with an amazing window shelf.

On that shelf I have an abundance of plants. I purchased this little violet plant for my daughter but there was a plant on my shelf that she wanted more. So I took the violet and she took the little spider plant. As I was watering my plants I noticed that this little violet is beginning to bloom!

I'm so excited!

***note, my beautiful antique Christmas Santa piggy bank was a gift from my sister for Christmas 2021 - I love it, it remains in my kitchen year round.***

For the last 3 years I have purchased a Christmas cactus plant ... and for the last 3 years it has barely made it through the holiday before promptly dying!

I refuse to give up. Pray for this little cactus and for me.
