Cubical Decorating

 Cubical Decorating

Once I finished putting the binding on my Sewing My Stash Scrap Quilt #19 I knew I would be taking this cute little gem to work with me.

Sewing My Stash Scrap Quilt #19
45 x 45 inches

I was just recently promoted to our accounting department and moved to this cubical. Needless to say it was very beige ....

As I was finishing the binding on this little quilt it occurred to me that it would be perfect hanging in my cubical. And, it is!!
It adds color and texture and breaks up the beige.

Happiness is ...

 Happiness is ...

Having a sister who passes along a family heirloom kitchen stool to you. Finding the perfect fabric from your stash to dress up said family heirloom kitchen stool.

I spent a little time over the weekend making a cushion and backing to dress up my stool.

I love the colors and the print.
It really is the perfect fabric.

Baking - Cranberry White Chocolate Chip Scones

Baking - Cranberry White Chocolate Chip Scones

More kitchen puttering ...

Finally making my daughter's favorite treat.

My daughter loves these scones.
Scones are just sweet biscuits!

It is the scones recipe at King Arthur Flour website.

Baking - Chocolate Chip Cookies

 Baking - Chocolate Chip Cookies

Lately I've been enjoying baking. I enjoy being in my kitchen puttering around.

The thing about most cookie recipes is that a batch of cookies makes several dozen!
I live alone and if I made all of the cookies ... I would eat all of the cookies!

This time around I did bake up 2 dozen of the cookies.

And, they were SO DELICIOUS!!!

I then scooped out the rest of the cookie batter and froze the individual scoops.

I bagged them into 6 cookie scoops per bag to keep in the freezer for when I need a little something sweet to eat.

Transitioning Into Spring

 Transitioning Into Spring

I am fortunate to live in an area that has the four distinct seasons. Now of course we have Blackberry Summer, Dogwood Winter, and several other seasons here too!

But at the moment we are transitioning from winter into spring. This past weekend we sprang forward in Daylight savings time. From what I understand this will be the last time change into Daylight savings time. Going forward this will be Eastern time with no more time changes.

Bowling and Reading
Around here ... one day it is 70 degrees and the next day is 40 degrees!

So ... indoor activities are in order. Thank goodness for my social bowling league and my kindle.

Binding and Labeling

 Binding and Labeling

This past weekend I trimmed a quilt that I had forgotten about!

This little gem is my Sewing My Stash Scrap Quilt #19

This little quilt 45 x 54 inches will be going to work with me.
One of the walls of my cubical will get a little attention and color.

These little pink houses make me smile!

This nifty quilt binding spool was in my advent calendar this past Christmas season.
I love it! It is perfect for handmade binding - binding in general - but it works great with handmade binding.

After trimming this little gem of a quilt and making the binding it was time for a little snack. In this case ... homemade chocolate chip cookies fresh from the oven and a cuppa of Lady Earl Grey tea. Life is Sew Sweet!

Binding and Labeling

 Binding and Labeling

As I mentioned I usually end up with a few quilts to bind and label ...

I love this little quilt. I made this quilt per the pattern instructions and I knew it was going to be small but I didn't realize how small.
I believe this quilt is 54 x 54 inches.
That being said, I wish I had made it larger.

I love the Happy Camper fabrics I used.
I purchased these fabrics from Natalie at www.sewhungryhippy.com

I remembered to put the label on this one.

Binding and Labeling

 Binding and Labeling

The final step in quilting making. And honestly my least favorite step in the quilt making process. I usually end up with a stack of quilts ready for binding and labeling.

In the past few weeks I have been trimming quilts that I have gotten back from my wonderful longarm quilter and friend Sharon Leinart.

When I trim my quilts I always check them to make sure that I remembered to put a label on them. This little gem didn't have a label so I will be adding it when I put on the binding.

Backing fabric choices can be tough but for this quilt I found these cute little meerkats ... on sale no less!

Barware

 Barware

Last year when I went on vacation in South Georgia I was able to purchase an extensive amount of barware. On a recent day out with my daughter we found these beautiful brandy glasses.

I haven't done my homework on the vintage or design of these glasses but they are just stunning. There is an etched pattern on the glasses and the bottom has a beautiful starburst.

I was telling my daughter-in-law that I'm just a wanna be Pub owner and barmaid. I love trying and mixing cocktails.

These little treasures were $3.00 each glass, $18.00 for all six glasses.
The glasses are in pristine condition.
