Easter 2025

 Easter 2025

We celebrated Easter with lunch at Olive Garden, champagne cocktails, and an afternoon crocheting together.

I loved every minute of it.

Sugar Skulls
And a bit of Easter basket bounty.

My girl has caught the crochet bug and she is going like gangbusters!
Makers gonna make!

I worked on crocheting a few pastel color eggs since we didn't color eggs this year.

Proof that my girl enjoyed her Easter basket bounty.
It was a wonderful day.
Thanks be to God

Quilt Shop Hop Tennessee

 Quilt Shop Hop Tennessee

Now that there is no longer a Joann Fabrics I hit my GPS for fabric shops nearby where ever I go. It's been a fun little adventurous exercise for me.

That being said, me and Jo, my friend and fellow quilter spent Saturday on a little quilt shop hop of quilt shops in my hometown of Crossville.

I never leave a quilt shop without a bit of red/white fabrics for future Red/White quilt projects and Saturday was no different.
Fabrics from both Mountain Top Fabrics & More and Little Blessing Quilt Shop.

One of these fabrics will be the lining for a crochet Easter Basket that I am presently working on. I haven't decided the use for the other one yet.

These Bella Solids will be for a future quilt project and some for my stash. I am trying to build my solid color fabrics stash as well.

I needed this batik to complete the binding for the Mermaid quilts.

I love fishing around in fat quarter bins ... I can always find some inspiration there.
I was drawn to these fat quarters and I just couldn't leave them behind.

Fabri shopping, then pizza at Gondola, it was a great day.

This one may ended up being a HUGE challenge!

Llama Llama Llama

Llama Llama Llama

A new quilt project in the making ...

This project has taken 2 days to cut out the pieces ... and I still haven't cut out the borders.

I enjoy patterns written by Elizabeth Hartman, they always challenge me.
I'm sure this one will be the same, a good challenge.

Change Of Seasons

 Change of Seasons

Winter changing into spring here in East Tennessee means you never know what kind of weather the day will bring.

Last Monday I woke up and made a loaf of bread before going into work. Once I arrived at work, I logged into my computer only to realize that we were under a tornado watch,

Which made for a very interesting Monday morning at work. That being said the bread was delicious and when I got home from work I found the 2025 Mahjongg cards in my mailbox.

Just taking it one moment at a time ...

Strawberry Jam

 Strawberry Jam

One of the quilt kits that I purchased last year. This quilt project isn't one of my favorites, no matter how I look at this quilt top it doesn't look right to me.

Basically, the strawberries don't look like strawberries to me. I checked and double checked the pattern and my construction of blocks in the pattern and I have followed the pattern correctly. Still it just doesn't look right to me.

It Has Become A Thing

 It Has Become A Thing

I have to say that so far my 60's have not been as enjoyable as I had anticipated.

I was reading the back of an over the counter pain relief tablet that I have been taking for the pain in my wrists, and it basically says if you are 60 do not take without speaking with your physician. So that's a thing now ... I need to consult my physician before I do any thing. Try a new exercise regime, take a pain relief tablet, change my toothpaste or deodorant ...

I am not a fan ...

That being said, I've been experiencing a lot of wrist and hand pain in both of my hands but especially in my left hand. I'm assuming carpal tunnel but again I will have to consult my physician ... UGH!

Recently, I purchased a compression glove and wrist support wrap. By the end of the day, work day or sewing room day, my left wrist is really weak and painful.

The wrist support wrap stabilizes my wrist in one position and helps with the pain. I have a Doctor's appointment at the beginning of April and I will be consulting with him about my wrists and hands. Hopefully a little physical therapy and I will be as good as new.

fingers crossed 🤞
