New Sewing Space

 New Sewing Space

New house, new sewing space ... it's all beginning to come together. I'm looking forward to many happy hours in our new home and my new sewing space.

Not the final configuration of notions but getting everything visible for some serious organizing. There is still a lot of work to do but, I'm looking forward to every moment of it.

2026 - Here We Go!

 2026 - Here We Go!!!

The past few years I have completed a yearly BINGO card of goals. I love a list!

I won't lie ... a blank BINGO card is pretty intimidating!
But, pretty exciting too!
The possibilities are endless!

All Has Been Merry and Bright

All Has Been Merry and Bright

End of 2025 Vibes

I've enjoyed a very quiet and peaceful holiday season with all of those whom I love. It has been spectacular! 2025 has provided so many wonderful God given blessings. A new job that I love. Good health, real peace, and happiness.
I am blessed beyond measure and I am truly grateful!

Ending 2025 in a quiet and peaceful place. My prayer for 2026 is continued peacefulness, good health, and profound happiness for each of us.

Happiest of New Years to you all!

There is nothing like the feeling of accomplishing a goal you have set for yourself ... except for watching your child achieve one of their goals.

Gardening Goals

 Garden Goals

For several years I have been wanting to build my backyard into a gardening haven of vegetables, herbs, and fruits ...

and year after year I fail miserably.

In the coming year, I have decided that I am going to focus on a small doable area. My inspiration comes for this book.

I've been complying the types of vegetables, herbs, and fruits I would like to grow. Along with some garden elements I would like to implement. Then this coming spring it is my thought to establish one garden element at a time.

Once that garden element is fully established, I will add another ... and so on

Maybe 2026 will be my backyard gardening year!

B-I-N-G-O 2025

 B-I-N-G-O 2025

In 2023 my sister sent out the BINGO challenge, basically you complete a BINGO card with goals you would like to accomplish throughout the year.

Below you will find my 2024 BINGO card with the goals I completed marked off. Under that you will find my 2025 BINGO card.

It is a fun way to keep an eye on your goals and the goals that you complete.

Let the fun begin!!

Finally

 Finally

I'm not sure why but for over two years now ... I have been looking for a recliner for my living room. But I just couldn't make a decision and commit to actually buying one.

Yesterday was the day! I made the decision and purchased a recliner.

I purchased this recliner from a local Wholesale Furniture store. From the clearance section no less ... probably the reason I was able to commit to this particular recliner. However I was worried that the chair would be to big for my living room.

My house was built in 1964, at that time both furniture and people were smaller.
I was pleasantly surprised that the recliner fits perfectly.

I predict many happy relaxing moments in this recliner.
And, not an ounce of buyer's remorse.
WINNING!!!

Mom Vibes

 Mom Vibes

My youngest came in for a visit over the weekend and I have had the best time.

We've had the best time just hanging out. We've gone recliner shopping, eaten out, watched Master's of the Air on Apple TV, gone bowling and talked and laughed and talked and laughed some more.

My mom heart if very happy and full.

Joyful Little Treat

 Joyful Little Treat

Recently I quit drinking coffee because it makes my stomach hurt. I've switched over to drinking tea in the mornings and I feel much better. That being said, I do miss coffee.

While grocery shopping this past weekend I decided to purchase some hot chocolate and came across this Stephen's White Chocolate cocoa mix. It was on the very top shelf ... and a few items over was the instant coffee.

Hmmmm ....

Y'all ...

Make the hot cocoa per package directions then add a teaspoon of the French Roast instant coffee.

Ooooh La La ... a wonderful delicious joyful little treat ...

Just do it ... you can thank me later!

Garden Window Update

Garden Window Update

I love my kitchen and my kitchen window garden.

My sister gave me this jade plant ... it was tiny ... now it is in two containers.
This container and the one below.

All of the plants love this window and seem to thrive not matter the time of year.

No matter the season, I love my little garden window.

As you can see ... the window garden is beginning to over flow a bit.

This garden planter has been purchased and it is my plan to begin doing a little gardening outside as well. It is my goal to one day have a proper little homestead of sorts right here in my very own backyard.

Denim & Lace

 Denim & Lace

Finally getting myself together and moving forward in my sewing room. This is the second quilt project that I completed this past weekend.

This quilt pattern and kit is by Amanda of Westwood Acres Fabris, the pattern is written beautifully and the fabrics in the kit were amazing. I started this quilt in October of last, completed 6 of the 12 blocks needed ... and then got in my head about my quilt life.

UGH!

2nd of several unfinished quilt projects that are now complete!
WINNING!

Once the 12 star blocks were completed, completing the quilt top went very quickly.
Amanda writes a beautiful pattern.

This little privacy fence in my backyard is about to fall down. It is on my list for Spring of 2024 to have it replaced. It is well past being repaired.

I care! I love making things! It makes me very very happy inside!

Starting a few Sunflowers

Herb Garden - Basil

Herb Garden - Peppermint

I finally got a plant into my front porch planter.

Freshening up my carport planter ... Spider Plant

 Pretty Spring Daffodils!

I am so proud of the gardening progress that I made over the weekend. I am planting things that I know that I will eat. This years garden is more about learning how to garden. Last year my backyard garden was an epic fail but I learned that some things just can't be grown in a container ... they need a garden in the ground. I'm excited about my little backyard garden.

The Greatest Birthday Gift

The Greatest Birthday Gift

A dear kind family friend tracked me down to give me a painting done by my father, who passed away when I was 5 years old. This dear kind friend - well, our parents were close friends when we were younger.

This morning I cleaned it up and hung the painting in my home.
I have a painting of my mom's childhood home and now I have this painting by my father.

I feel so very blessed and thankful to have both of these family treasures that will always remind me of both of my parents.

Having these paintings hung in my home make me and my home feel full and more complete.
That may be sappy but it is how I feel.

This is my view at work.
It is such a blessing to have a window at my desk. It feels great to be able to look outside and see what is going on. Rain or shine I love this little window.

Ticking Them Off My List

As you know ... I love lists ...

For years I have acquired quilt patterns that I wanted to make but just never had the time to make very many of them. In the last three years I have finally had the time. So I have been ticking those quilt projects off of my list.

I purchased this quilt pattern as soon as it was available. I love everything about it. It feels really good to get this project in progress.

I've also been working through my stash of fabric so not all of my flag blocks are the same.

I also made a couple of extra blocks that I plan to make pillows with. I have ordered the teal fabric that I need for the sashing and the backing fabric.
Now I'm just waiting for it to arrive in order to finish this one up.

I love that I am able to finally make some of these quilts that I have always wanted to make.
