Hedgehog Progress

 Hedgehog Progress

Last weekend was full of sewing room fun and my high school reunion. Definitely a weekend to remember.

I made progress on my Colorful Hedgehog 💖

The glasses just make it for me ...
These little hedgehog faces are just so cute but when you add the glasses, WOW!

I'm trying to decide on the fabrics for the border(s).
I also have a 10th block that I am making into a pillow.

Weekend Vibes

 Weekend Vibes

The last couple of weekends have been a bust in my sewing room. I made a pillow from the test block I made before starting my scrappy HEARTS quilt.

I made a zipper pouch and a snack bag ... just fiddling around.

Instagram is a bad thing when I watch reels with easy recipes for sweets!
Lemon Bars .... Oh my word ... DELICIOUS!

Sock knitting ... I still haven't finished these socks!
UGH!!!!

Strolling Through My Photos

 Strolling Through My Photos

I was strolling through my camera feed on my phone ... I really am obsessed with Red/White quilts.

I'm going to share a few of my Red/White quilt creations with you. It is sort of fascinating to see them all in one place.

It is crazy to see all of these creations in one place. I do love red/white quilts and pillows but I hadn't realized how much until I started looking through my photos on my phone.

Some of these quilts have been gifted, some have been sold, some have been donated, some are still in progress awaiting quilting and/or binding, but most of them are being used and enjoyed right here in my home.

HEARTS ...

Put a little love in your heart ...

Like I said, I started this quilt back on March 6, 2020, on March 25, 2020 things shut down due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. I worked on these blocks everyday for almost a year and now it is a completed quilt top. The Pandemic continues with new variants appearing almost daily it seems. This quilt and my sewing room have kept me sane through Covid-19.

I spent the weekend finishing this quilt top ... we had a lot of storms on Saturday morning and my electricity went out for an hours or so. Once the electric came back on I was able to finish piecing this quilt top and a 16 x 16 inch pillow top. I love these little hearts!

Lots of fussy cutting ... but I enjoyed the process so much. This quilt is a keeper!
Lots of sewing room memories in this quilt. Lots of hearts from fabrics used to make other quilt projects.

More Orphan Blocks

 More Orphan Blocks

After finishing up the piecing of my Candy Crush 2.0 quilt ... I had a bunch of leftover "units". I didn't want there to be "units" that would repeat or have two of the same blocks next to each other, I ended up with more than a few extra "units".

This is typically how I end up with orphan blocks. While I am cleaning up after piecing a quilt I always try to tidy up the scraps leftover from piecing. Some times it is stripes other times it is blocks.

I ended up with 5, 10.5 inch blocks and 11, 6.5 inch blocks.
Tula Pink orphan blocks make me smile!

I have no idea how or where I will use these blocks but it is never a bad thing to have a few Tula Pink orphan blocks on hand.

I'm sort of rolling around the idea of making a couple of large floor pillows out of these bright and beautiful blocks.

Quilts and Family

Quilts and Family

Needless to say many of the quilts that I make ... I make for my family members.

I always love it when I see the quilts in pictures that my family share with me. My sister is especially great about sharing pictures of my quilts in use.

T-shirt quilts, baby quilts, quilts as wedding gifts, quilts as graduation gifts, pillows and quilt racks full of quilts that I have made.
There is nothing better than family!
