Work Space Decor

 Work Space Decor

My work space is a cubicle, a well used cubicle that is a beige color. So I enjoy decorating my cubicle to reflect my personality and the seasons.

On Monday of this week I changed the decor to a more spring like look.

The scrappy patchwork quilt draped over the back of the "blue chair" in this picture was the quilt that was hanging in my cubicle until I changed it up.
Being the quilt I chose for my wintery cozy cubicle decor.

The scrappy patchwork quilt is from a pattern by,

I chose the Denim and Lace quilt that I finished last year for my spring time cubicle decor.
This quilt was a quilt kit from Westwood Acres Fabric

Work space cubicles do not have to be drab and colorless, especially if you are a quilter in real life ...

Strawberry Jam

 Strawberry Jam

One of the quilt kits that I purchased last year. This quilt project isn't one of my favorites, no matter how I look at this quilt top it doesn't look right to me.

Basically, the strawberries don't look like strawberries to me. I checked and double checked the pattern and my construction of blocks in the pattern and I have followed the pattern correctly. Still it just doesn't look right to me.

March A Blur

 March A Blur

March flew by in a blur ... lots of birthdays to celebrate, a bit of sock knitting, quilting, a little doll making, watercolor painting, and spring cleaning.

Strawberry Jam Quilt Kit

 Strawberry Jam Quilt Kit

Another quilt kit by Westwood Acres

Cozy in my sewing room I decided to begin a new quilt project.
I picked this project due to the theme.
Strawberries make me think of Spring ... and with all of this cold cold weather, I needed a little bit of spring. Or at least the idea of spring.

I love this quilt.

Coral Limerick Quilt, Machine Quilting, and Friends

Coral Limerick Quilt, Machine Quilting, and Friends

This month has been a busy one but a very good one. I was desperate to find someone to machine quilt the memory t-shirt quilt that I was commissioned to make. My regular machine quilter was out of town. I called around to local quilt shops with no luck. Then I remembered my friend, Jo, of the Nob Hill Notions ladies is now a machine quilter.

She came to my rescue and quilted that quilt in one afternoon. When I picked that quilt up I brought another quilt top that needed machine quilting.

I had the best afternoon reconnecting with my friend.

Jo asked me if I wanted to help her load my quilt on the frame and I jumped at the chance! This is the first time I've gotten to be apart of the process and to watch my quilt being machine quilted. It was amazing and so much fun.

Design Wall Update - Coral Limerick Quilt

 Design Wall Update

The Coral Limerick Quilt kit project.

There is a lot of cutting in this project and may be something to consider if you don't like a lot of fussy cutting and piecing.

It was a lot of fun watching the pattern emerge on my design wall.

Coral Limerick Quilt Kit
The kit was purchased from Amanda of Westwood Acres
Finished Size 66 x 86 inches
This was a fun project, lots of cutting but the pattern is written beautifully and the fabrics provided in the kit are excellent.
I may make this quilt pattern again, in a red/white version of course.

The Limerick in Coral

Is the color coral considered red?

The Limerick in Coral
Pattern and fabric kit are by Amanda of Westwood Acres Fabric
You can find her website HERE

While ironing the fat quarter bundles of fabric need for this project I have been pondering the question ...
Is the color coral considered a red tone? A pink tone? Or even an orange tone?
I can't decide ...

Quilting Mojo

 Quilting Mojo

I enjoy quilting making so much but lately my quilting mojo has been elusive at best.

In May I started a quilt project that sparked my quilting mojo back to life.

The Bubblegum Sonnet

The pattern is by Amanda of Westwood Acres Fabrics

I've always said that pink is my least favorite color but as it turns out I think pink is one of my favorite colors. I don't know why but I seem to be drawn to the color.

Pretty in pink 💖💖💖

This pattern is written wonderfully

There is enough technical difficulty to make this quilt project interesting and rewarding.

I'm not quiet finished with the piecing of this quilt top but I am enjoying the process so much.

It's coming together all of the parts and pieces are completed now it is time to piece those parts and pieces into a finished quilt top.

Making Something From Nothing

 Making Something From Nothing

While working on the bubblegum sonnet quilt, I'm left with half square triangle bits cut from the half square triangles needed for the quilt top. So, I decided to pieces these bits and make something out of them later on.

I'm not sure what I will make but the possibilities are endless.

Half Square Triangle bits

These little half square triangle blocks are 1 3/4 inches square.
So CUTE!

Bubblegum Pink

 Bubblegum Pink Sonnet Quilt

Presently I am working on the Bubblegum Pink Sonnet quilt kit that I purchased from

Westwood Acres Fabric

Pattern and kit by Amanda, also @a.crafty.fox on instagram

As always, my apologies for the terrible lighting in my sewing room.
These pictures do not do this quilt and the fabrics used justice.
This quilt is just stunning and I'm looking forward to completing this quilt top.

Pretty in PINK!

I am enjoying this quilt project so much. All of it. The pattern, the fabrics, just all of it.

Denim & Lace

 Denim & Lace

Finally getting myself together and moving forward in my sewing room. This is the second quilt project that I completed this past weekend.

This quilt pattern and kit is by Amanda of Westwood Acres Fabris, the pattern is written beautifully and the fabrics in the kit were amazing. I started this quilt in October of last, completed 6 of the 12 blocks needed ... and then got in my head about my quilt life.

UGH!

2nd of several unfinished quilt projects that are now complete!
WINNING!

Once the 12 star blocks were completed, completing the quilt top went very quickly.
Amanda writes a beautiful pattern.

Quilts in the Wild
This little privacy fence in my backyard is about to fall down. It is on my list for Spring of 2024 to have it replaced. It is well past being repaired.

I care! I love making things! It makes me very very happy inside!

Binding and Labeling

 Binding and Labeling

The final step in quilting making. And honestly my least favorite step in the quilt making process. I usually end up with a stack of quilts ready for binding and labeling.

In the past few weeks I have been trimming quilts that I have gotten back from my wonderful longarm quilter and friend Sharon Leinart.

When I trim my quilts I always check them to make sure that I remembered to put a label on them. This little gem didn't have a label so I will be adding it when I put on the binding.

Backing fabric choices can be tough but for this quilt I found these cute little meerkats ... on sale no less!
