Crochet - A Post Apocalyptic Life Skill

Crochet - A Post Apocalyptic Life Skill

Who knew ....

Yarn, yarn, and more yarn ...
Like fabric - I swear it multiplies!

In the last few days I've gotten a couple of patterns together and apparently bags and bags of yarn to play with. Presently it is too hot outside to enjoy, so I'm inside practicing my post apocalyptic life skills ....

Side note: also pondering where in the world time goes! July has been a blur!

Life IS Sew Sweet!

 Life IS Sew Sweet!

Life here is my sewing room and beyond really IS so very sweet!

I love my home, I love my family, I love my friends. I'm grateful for my health and the ability to get out and about.

Friday night I got out and about with my friends for a dart tournament at the Lodge.
We all had a blast.

We also won the dart tournament!

Relaxation

 Relaxation

I spent a very relaxing day at home yesterday baking zucchini bread and prepping food for my work week lunches.

I spent a little time this morning getting all of my ingredients together.

I made chocolate zucchini bread with white chocolate chip and pineapple zucchini bread.
I ended up with 6 mini loaves of each.

Meal prepping is hard for me ... each weekend I pounder what in the world to make, that I can eat on for the entire week. This weekend I decided on meatloaf and mashed potatoes.

When gathering my baking ingredients I found that I had all of these bottles of dusting sugar. I have no idea how I ended up with all of these. For the past four years I have gathered ingredients to make cookies and candies for Christmas but never got around to making them. I figure this may be why I have all of this sugar.

Hopped On the Skinny Water Train

 Skinny Water

While I was on vacation my sister got me hooked on Skinny Water.

It is basically flavoring with no sugar and no calories. As much as I am growing to enjoy drinking water, it is really nice to have options and flavors on occasion.

 2023 BINGO UPDATE

January 2, 2023 - BINGO Challenge

July 11, 2023 - BINGO Update
I have been able to tick off a few of my goals.
When I was at my sister's for vacation she showed me her BINGO goals ... needless to say she has ticked off quite a few more spaces than I have.
I need to get busy!

Quilters

 Quilters

I'm not the only quilter in our family. My sister is also a wonderful quilter. While I was on vacation and not feeling very well, I got to snuggle up under a beautiful quilt that my sister made.

This beautiful quilt in pink and brown fabrics is so soft. My sister hand-quilted the entire quilt and used big stitch with pearl cotton thread around the borders.

There are so many sweet details in this quilt.
The rose backing fabric and the sweet label.

It was so comforting to be snuggled under a quilt made with love by my sister.

I spent the last day of my vacation with my feet up, with ice packs, cool towels, and lots of Tylenol.

My sister took care of me ... dinner in bed ... and cool compresses.
