Back on the Sewing Table

 Back on the Sewing Table

My Shimmer quilt - in Tula Pink fabrics collected over the years.

I've been sorting, organizing, and cleaning in my sewing room as of late ... and sadly, I haven't even made a dent! This Fall and winter it is my goal to get all of my sewing, crocheting, knitting, and crafting ... ah ... shall I say supplies, all sorted and organized in my sewing room. Just my sewing room ... as to the current state of said supplies, which are in every single room in my house!

Anywho ... while tackling this task I have unearthed my Shimmer quilt project and decided that a little "stop and sew on something" therapy was in order. One can only clean so much for so long ... right?

I love this particular quilt pattern. It is by Allison of Cluck Cluck Sew
and Tula Pink fabrics never disappoint. EVER!

Appalachian Basket Weaving - God's Eye

  Appalachian Basket Weaving

God's Eye - Red/White Basket

My daughter and I took an Appalachian Basket Weaving class at the Knoxville Crafts and Art Center. We had a blast! Basket weaving is an amazing craft. I really enjoyed the class and learning how to make a basket.

Family - Gibson

Family

Gibson Family

My Mom was here for a visit the end of September and we spent a Saturday making flower arrangements and setting them on the graves of our loved ones.

My great grandparents, my grandparents, and my Dad are laid to rest here. My Mom always has wonderful memories and unheard stories to share about life lived with these people and I have wonderful memories of my own as well.

It was a beautiful Fall day, bright blue skies, a gentle breeze, and peacefulness.

We had lunch at a favorite hometown spot and returned to Knoxville with the joyful hearts full of remembering.
