For the quilt I am making I have chosen to make 4 gigantic size blocks, 34 x 37 inches. I have completed 2 and have started on the final 2 blocks.

These Hedgehogs are the cutest things ever!

I have decided to name this quilt, "Ode to LuLou"

Meet Hazel the Hedgehog!

This is another pattern by Elizabeth Hartman, called Hazel Hedgehog II 

I am continuing with my Red & White quilt obsession with this quilt. I have pulled the fabrics to make 3 more of these Hedgehogs - after adding a border the quilt should be roughly 80 x 80 inches, or at least that is my plan.

Red & White quilts are just stunning to me. I'm not exactly sure why but I love them! Thus my current obsession with them. Creatively speaking, quilting with just red and white fabrics has been incredibly freeing. Quilting has become more about the pattern than the fabric choice. 

Just about every quilt pattern I see these days - I imagine as a Red & White quilt! I have a few more quilt patterns in my queue that I will be doing in Red & White fabrics.

I have currently began looking at ways to decorate my guest bedroom in Red & White, showcasing my ever growing Red & White quilt collection. Yes ... apparently this obsession grows!

Today I ... Put A Little Love in My Heart

This quilt pattern is by Elizabeth Hartman the pattern is called Pixel Heart, it is one of her earlier patterns and I have had it for years in my queue to make. The pattern calls for solid fabrics but I really wanted to use fabrics with a pattern but never found what I was looking for. I love patterns by Elizabeth Hartman, they are well written and easy to follow. I have acquired several of her patterns over the years. 

Anyhow ....

... recently I found this charm pack by Shayla Wolf, Foundation B.O.M and quickly bought 4 of them, Elizabeth's pattern calls for 150, 5 inch squares.

I LOVE THESE FABRICS!

Not only are they bright beautiful colors but they have beautiful geometric designs.

Be still my heart ... 

My Quilting Planets were aligned perfectly to finally make the Pixel Heart quilt of my dreams! 

And, that is exactly what I did ...

I couldn't be happier with the results! I did make one modification to the pattern, I added the row above Row #1 listed on the pattern. The very top of the heart shape. By using the charm packs for my 5 inch color blocks the only cutting I had to do was the white strips. This quilt top went together in one "full" day in my sewing room. It rained all day on Sunday, so I was able to sew the day away while doing my laundry and binge watching Netflix and Hulu.

Today I ... Wonder Where Time Goes

This lovely girl recently celebrated her 27th birthday. I still see her as a 3 year old and in dance class, or blissfully organizing her new school supplies!

Blessed are the peacemakers.

My baby! Will celebrate his 25th birthday tomorrow. I still see him asking me if I will pay the tax for some $5 toy he wanted to buy at the Dollar Tree. The Tax Man! 

25 = A quarter of a century ............

And, my Mom (center) will be celebrating her 79th birthday on Monday

Time marches on, there is a lot of love and wonderful shared moments in those faces.

Today I ... SOLD One of My Creations

I put this quilt in a box and mailed it to it's new owner. About a year ago I took a class at my local quilt shop to make a collage quilt. This pattern is by Laura Heine and you can get her patterns here. 

I enjoyed the class and I enjoyed picking the fabrics for my collage. This quilt turned out really well and is stunning. I'm thrilled that it is going to someone who loves it more than I do. I did enjoy the process but I probably won't make another collage quilt. As a quilter, I enjoy the structure of piecing blocks, the collage quilt, to me, is a very different technique.

Over the weekend my sweet nephew found this crafting / sewing table on a yard sale site he follows. He sent me a picture and asked if I would like to have it for my sewing room ... YES!!! He followed up, purchased the table, picked it up, delivered it to my house, and put it together in my sewing room. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family.

Today I ... Skipped Down a Red Brick Road

Truthfully it took a bit for me to figure out the rhythm of this quilt. For some reason I was going at it like I would for piecing a log cabin. After ripping out more than a few seams, I was finally able to wrap my mind around it. At this point (photo above) the quilt top is almost 55 x 60 inches, but it seems I have run out of red fabric scraps ... or at least red fabric scraps in the size I need for this quilt. So, I took this one down from the design wall until my red scrap fabric bag gets full again.

My goal is to make this quilt 110 x 110 inches

This is the book that started it all ... this fascination and passion that I now have for Red & White Quilts. My youngest son got this book for me for Christmas 2017.

Red and White Quilts Infinite Variety

I haven't been able to put it down since!

I completed "My Red Work" quilt top in January of this year and it is presently out for professional machine quilting.

This one is deceiving ... I don't have a picture of the entire finished quilt top. Somehow I don't have a lot of pictures of this one. I started this quilt top in the spring of last year, I ended up calling it my Wonky Red and White quilt. This quilt is also presently out for professional machine quilting.

This Mini Suburbs quilt hangs in my sewing room. This one I completed from start to finish, machine quilting and all. This pattern is by Allison of the Cluck Cluck Sew blog.

I love patterns by Allison, they are well written and easy to follow.

I finished putting the binding on this quilt right before Prince Harry married Megan Markle in May of 2017. This quilt is the 2 x 4 quilt pattern by Ashley of the Film in the Fridge blog. I love this quilt and I love the professional machine quilting by Sharon who lives locally.

I ended up with extra blocks, extra borders, and extra binding from my 2 x 4 Quilt, so I made a table topper which was also professionally machine quilted.

I love it too!

This one was not on my design wall very long. I saw a quilt like this on Pinterest years ago. I actually think that I originally saw the quilt on Purl Soho's website but I'm not entirely sure. All I know is that I always wanted to make one of my own. When I decided to begin making Red and White quilts, this one was the first design that came to mind.

This L-O-V-E quilt is now ready for machine quilting, the backing is made and it is ready to go!

This is "My Red Work" I started this quilt years and years and years ago. I go the idea for Nova at A Cuppa and a Catch up blog. I embroidered each of the 5.5 inch squares. In January I picked the blocks I had together and began adding borders.

This is my Tribute Star quilt top ... ready for machine quilting! I love this quilt pattern, it is by Denyse Schmidt at disquiets.com I love this pattern because it comes together so quickly to make a nice 60 x 60 inch quilt. It is my go to pattern when I'm asked to make a donation quilt. So naturally when I began making Red and White quilts, this pattern was a must.

And, I kept adding borders to "My Red Work" ... of course
